Bio
Nealy grew up in Kennebunk, ME and received her undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Smith College. She received her J.D. from Maine Law, graduating cum laude with the class of 2024.
Nealy believes every individual has the right to be free from government overreach and that powerful actors should be held accountable when individual rights are violated. Her practice is focused on juvenile defense, criminal defense, and civil rights. She is active in filing habeas petitions to ensure immigrant detainees held in the District of Maine are afforded due process.
Nealy is passionate about fighting for justice and working towards a future where everyone has access to the legal representation they deserve. She feels so unbelievably privileged to have the opportunity to serve her community as an attorney.
While in law school, Nealy worked as a Student Attorney, Research Assistant, and Teaching Assistant in the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic. As a student attorney, she represented indigent defendants in criminal and juvenile matters. She also represented clients in protection from abuse and family matters cases. As a member of the Prisoners Assistance Clinic, she assisted incarcerated individuals with civil legal cases, making frequent visits to local correctional facilities to work with residents there. For her work in the Clinic, Nealy was honored with the Clinical Legal Education Outstanding Clinic Student Award in 2023. She also received Maine Law’s 2024 Upper Level Writing Award.
After sitting for the February 2024 Maine Bar Examination, Nealy received the Kenneth R. Clegg Award for Excellence, which is given to the applicant who receives the highest combined score on a first attempt at passing the Bar. She was admitted to the Maine State Bar in May, 2024.
When she isn’t doing law stuff, Nealy likes to drink coffee with her husband, feed squirrels with her daughter, and watch horror movies with her pitbulls. She also listens to way too many nerdy legal podcasts, but she usually does that alone.
