About Our Practice

Oxford Hills Law was founded in 1969 by David Q. Whittier, Esq., a remarkable attorney who was well known and respected for his vast knowledge of the law and his direct and forthright treatment of all with whom he came in contact. He provided excellent legal representation in a variety of areas, including but not limited to family law, estate practice, civil litigation, and criminal defense. Towards the end of his active general practice, David also served as the President of the Maine State Bar Association, all the while maintaining an active role in several community service organizations.

 

As David was easing towards retirement, he was joined by other attorneys over the years, most notably Sarah L. Glynn, Esq. in 1999, who assumed ownership of the firm once David set off for retirement adventures at sea and on shore. Attorney Glynn was joined in 2007 by Linda C. Russell, Esq., a formidable and extremely experienced attorney who had clerked for the Chief Justice of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court, and then joined a prestigious civil litigation firm in Portland. Linda initially came to Oxford Hills Law to help with a transition period, but soon became enamored of the challenging opportunities to expand legal services in Oxford County. Linda soon became the “go to” elder law and estate planning resource throughout the county. 

 

As Linda and Sarah ease towards a slower pace and eventual retirement, Oxford Hills Law was turned over to the capable and energetic hands of Brandon L. Berg, Esq., who has continued the steadfast ethical principles of legal practice set by Attorney Whittier decades earlier.
